The Raquette River Lodge was built by Ross Freeman on the Indian Carry.

Tupper Lake Herald, April 21, 1911

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. A. DeLancett, of Raquette River Lodge, spent a very pleasant Easter week with friends in New York. Mr. DeLancett informs us that prospects are very bright this year for summer guests, as he already has many guests booked for the summer months for Raquette River Lodge. Mr. DeLancette's son met him here with his launch, the first trip to be made by launch this spring through the river.

Raquette River lodge, a 20-room hostelry at Raquette River Falls, 10 miles above Corey's was totally destroyed Monday by fire believed to have been caused by an overheated stovepipe. Located at the famous carry at the foot of Raquette River Falls, it was an important connecting link in the Fulton Chain, Raquette river, Axton, Corey's, Tupper Lake and Upper Saranac Lake line of summer oboarding [sic] travel.
